Our introductory workshop goes through the build of a Eco pod using basic carpentry skills. Eco pods are used for glamping, garden rooms and extra rooms to a home. These pods have a small footprint, but can easily be scaled up for bigger projects

About the event
There are very few courses available that teach you how to build a glamping pod or a Shepherds hut. This is why we decided to offer this introductory workshop.
Buying glamping pods or Shepherds huts or any substantial timber building comes with a price tag, so learning how to build your own is a great way to save money and is hugely satisfying to build your own.
What you will learn:
On this workshop, you will Learn how to build an eco pod. Starting with assembling the frame, from the arches through to the cross section supports, use of sheet material for structural integrity, basic sub floor to completing with cladding and will include:
Basic health & safety including PPE
Basic carpentry with hand tools and power tools to achieve great results.
Framing - How to assemble the frame, completing the arches, and cross sections.
Rolling the frame - to secure the bottom
Flooring - installing a sub floor
Membranes - discussion on membranes and how to apply them
Cladding - discussion & practical examples on types and how to apply them
Door - How to make a simple door
Completed Eco pod size - 2m x 2m
This is a two day workshop and is non residential.
